Safhi Farmcare, is an innovative self-employment project promoted jointly by SAFHI and an entrepreneur partner, to provide reliable farmer education / farm equipment & implement repair care and support to smaller towns of West Bengal. In collaboration with a reputed Indian company spcialised in farm equipment manufacturing and a small industries development bank, SAFHI would facilitate establishment of farm support centres all districts of West Bengal.

SAFHI is looking for educated youth entrepreneur partners interested to run the Farmcare Centres. The selected persons (SEP) would be running the centres jointly with SAFHI at least for 18 months. On satisfactory completion of this entrepreneurial internship and evaluation of adherence to service quality, financial compliance and loan repayment ability of the SEP, the farm equipment support section of the Farmcare project would be transferred to the SEP. This evaluation would be based on a joint evaluation by Safhi and other partner organisations.

Support to be provided by Safhi Farmcare Project to SEP:

·         20 days residential training on managing farm equipment support business, enterprise development, accountancy and marketing.

·         Initial marketing of the services; provide logistic support for farm equipment care, training on repair & maintenance, provision of tools.

·         Arrangement of the infrastructure of the centre i.e. furniture, electricity, maintenance of the centre with active support from the SEP.

 Locations: Any block / district headquarter or other town

 Interested candidates must be:

·         Local resident of the selected town

·         Qualification: BSc / MSc (Agri / Botany) or ITI trained Automobile technician

·         Willing to take a loan of Rs.2,00,000 and pay back in 3 years

·         Willing to invest Rs.40,000 upfront on being selected

·         Willing to market farm equipment care service in the specified territory with active support from SAFHI and other partner organisations.

·         Willing to take up business target in order to refund the loan within the specified period.

·         Owning / able to arrange an area of 7-8 cottah of land in a prime/accessible location on national/state highway or district road within 5 km of the selected town.
