Women Development:
Safhi is involved in the conversion of defunct SHGs under DWCRA programme to SGSY in the district of 24 Parganas, by arranging group meeting with group members, networking with stakeholders, line department officials and Banks for smooth conversion. Capacity Building of the group members by organising Basic Orientation Programmes (BOP), Skill development programme and nurturing of the groups for 3 years. The beneficiaries are around 405 DWCRA Groups involving 4,860 women members.
Safhi has achieved effective conversion of 50 such groups.
Safhi has also been assigned the task of Marketing the products of the erstwhile DWCRA groups in Birbhum
Safhi has set up 2 Production cum Training Centres in partnership with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in Amdanga Block and 24 Parganas (N), West Bengal
Subsequent to training, the beneficiaries are engaged in production of diversified jute products and sell the same by attending fairs in Kolkata and elsewhere with the help of Safhi. The beneficiaries are 40 women SHGs who are at present linked to Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY)
